What do I love more than the experience of travel itself?

Finding great FOOD when I travel!!! It’s like a double whammy. An obsession of its own. A gift that keeps giving! It’s one of the things I look forward to the most when planning a trip. If you haven’t caught up on those posts, you can do that right here. Either way, keep reading for a list of seven incredible, exciting, and amazing travel food finds!

I feel it’s only fair to warn you. This is NOT a post about healthy food. Sorry, not sorry. I try my best to eat as healthy as possible the majority of the time. BUT, when I travel…all bets are off! And here we go!

Only SEVEN???

I know. The world is full of great food experiences. If you look, you can find them anywhere and everywhere. In your own back yard, and around the world. But for the sake of time, I had to pick seven travel food finds that have inspired me just this week! I mean, we can’t sit here and dream about food all day! Or, can we?!?!?! Alas, I digress. Of course we can spend all day thinking about food. But for now, let’s get to this list!

#1 – Amsterdam

#2 – NYC

NYC Cheese Tour

Take a cheese tour in NYC. 🧀 💕

Posted by CHEESE INSIDER on Wednesday, February 28, 2018

Calling all CHEESE lovers! Cheese me, please me! Now, we all know NYC is a mecca of great food finds. I have been lucky enough to roam the street of New York many times, and I can’t even begin to recall all of the amazing food I have experienced in that great city. So. Many. Choices. But, for now, we can dream about cheese! Not a cheese fan (how dare you!)? Read on…

#3 – Hungary

Chimney Cakes

Chimney cakes are Hungarian tunnels of sugar.

Posted by FOOD INSIDER on Tuesday, July 26, 2016

Are you Hungary yet? Get it? See my little play on words there. Ha! I know. So obvious. But that’s totally okay when we are dreaming of Chimney Cakes! Who can be upset when you are watching this video? Well, I can. Only because I am not there at this very moment! But, this tranditional Hungarian wedding pastry (officially known as Kürtőskalács) is officially on my must-travel-to-and-eat-this list!

#4 – Las Vegas

Fork Yeah: Trash Can Nachos

This nacho tower slides straight out of a trash can.

Posted by Thrillist Food and Drink on Friday, March 2, 2018

Who would have EVER thought that eating out of a trash can would be a good thing??? Well, other than Sesame Street’s Oscar the Grouch (I’m showing my age with that one)! Leave it up to Guy Fieri to make this concept cool. He’s my food hero. Traveling and eating. That’s what he does and that’s what I do. Wow. Guy and I are connected. Well, maybe not. But these nachos sure do look freaking AWESOME!

#5 – Tokyo

Fork Yeah: Kagurazaka Hanten

This Godzilla-sized dumpling weighs 5.5 pounds.

Posted by Thrillist Food and Drink on Saturday, March 3, 2018

I’m a dumpling, she’s a dumpling, he’s a dumpling, we’re a dumpling. Wouldn’t you like to be a dumpling too? 🙂 Can you name that tune??? Either way, is this a dumpling or what? My goodness. This one would feed a small village. Literally. But how fun, right? I’m all about the fun and quirky food finds! How big is the bowl of dipping sauce that goes with? I can’t even imagine.

#6 – LA and Portland – Vegan

Who knew being vegan could be so delicious?

Posted by Bring Me on Monday, February 5, 2018

Vegans just want to have fun too, right? Obviously, I’m not a vegan. I’ve tried it before. and loved it, honestly. I just reverted back to my old ways and, well…ya know. But whoever says being vegan is boring has obviously not tried these food destinations yet. Wow. Looks. So. Good.

I love eating locally when traveling. I fell in love with Korean food while in Korea, could not understand why they would want Western food! I say travel with all 5 senses including taste.
